Apr. 27--The state Supreme Court has agreed to stay its landmark decision permitting the taking of homes by eminent domain for private development on New London's Fort Trumbull peninsula, at least until the U.S. Supreme Court decides whether to hear the homeowners' appeal.
The stay offers a glimmer of hope and some breathing space to the seven families at the core of the dispute, which now has the potential of making case law nationwide.
