At its annual general meeting at the Telus Centre in Calgary today, the Canadian Orthopaedic Association is sounding the alarm about the impact of operating room shortages on timely access to quality care. According to a report tabled by the National Standards Committee of the COA, restricted operating-room time means less than half of Canada's practising orthopaedic surgeons are able to work at full capacity.
