Philip Morris to close down tobacco factory in Eger - 334 to be laid off
Budapest. June 18. INTERFAX-EUROPE - Philip Morris Magyarorszag Kft, the Hungarian subsidiary of tobacco manufacturer Philip Morris, announced Friday that it will close down its factory in Eger (Northern Hungary).
The Eger plant currently has 334 employees, who will be laid off by the end of May 2005 - the bulk of the layoffs will take place in October this year. Of the total workforce, 237 are blue-collar workers and 97 are white-collar employees.
