Apr. 27--On top of the 700 jobs lost at Citgo, hundreds of support and service jobs could be in jeopardy.
Depending on how you interpret the economic impact of Citgo Petroleum Corp.'s partial move to Houston, the glass either is two-thirds empty or one-third full.
The sting of Citgo decision Monday to shift its headquarters and 700 jobs to Houston was tempered by its plan to keep 300 workers in Tulsa.
Citgo is known as a high-wage employer. The 700 affected jobs are estimated to have an annual total payroll of $33.9 million, according to Bob Ball, research manager at the Tulsa Metro Chamber.
