TOKYO, June 18 Asia Pulse - Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co. (TSE:7013), known as IHI, has formed an alliance with the U.S. entity of Norwegian energy and engineering giant Aker Kvaerner ASA in the construction of liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminals in North America, The Nihon Keizai Shimbun learned Thursday.
There are a number of large-scale construction plans in the works there, and the partners aim to jointly win two such orders each year. The areas of cooperation will range from designing and constructing storage facilities in the U.S. and Canada to procuring materials and consulting on technical matters such as scaling up these facilities.
