42% of Europeans would be more likely to participate in a clinical research study if they were aware of measures in place to protect them, says a new poll of 2,300 people in the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Poland, Spain and the UK.

The BBK Healthcare poll found that 71% indicated that they were unaware of patient protections such as the Declaration of Helsinki, ethics committees and the informed consent process. After these measures were described, 42% said they would be more likely to participate in a clinical research study.
