Jun. 19--UCSB's Kohn Hall, home of the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics, is undergoing a $4.8 million expansion and renovation.
The donor-funded project includes a two-story tower and will add around another 9,700 square feet while 1,800 square feet of the existing building is also being upgraded.
The general contractors, J.W. Bailey Construction of Santa Barbara, started work last July and expect to finish in August or September. The Craig Roof Co., also based in Santa Barbara, is one of many subcontractors working on the building.
