Novelist Des Barry is back in Wales, giving back to the community in which he grew up. Mario Basini finds out what drives him

THE violence he saw as he grew up on a notorious South Wales housing estate helped to trigger the quest for peace and spiritual fulfilment that has filled much of Des Barry's adult life.
