Jun. 21--Fortune cookies have been a mainstay at Chinese restaurants in the United States for many decades. Inspired by the eager looks from diners as they break the wafer in order to read the message inside, a Thai firm decided to introduce them to the market here.
C-Mix Universal Co, a one-year old small-scale food processing firm, is the first Thai concern to sell the crispy cookies, which are initially targeted for local ice-cream parlours and restaurants that serve Chinese food, and event organisers, according to director Prutthiphong Tangkharawakhun.
