About 40 Memphis employees of the Pennaco Hosiery Division of Esmark Apparel Inc. will lose their jobs when distribution facilities are moved to Grenada.
The city of Grenada is building a new 90,000-square-foot facility for Pennaco at the Airport Industrial Park. Scheduled for completion in April, the facility will be financed through special general obligation bonds approved by the state of Mississippi this year.
Pennaco, which manufactures women's nylon hosiery, operates a plant employing about 950 workers in Grenada.
