Jun. 22--ADELANTO, Calif. -- After realizing there wasn't much for children in Adelanto to do, a group of residents is working to give kids a place to call their own -- the Victor Valley's first Boys and Girls Club.
Helene Harris, the president of the club, said she has already secured a building and hopes the facility will be up and running in three months.
The club would give children between the ages of 8 and 14 something to do and possibly spark similar clubs in neighboring cities.
