Jun. 22--United Airlines hopes to receive a conditional loan guarantee from the federal government this week that could be about $500 million less than the carrier had been seeking.

The Air Transportation Stabilization Board rejected United's bid for a $1.6 billion loan guarantee last week, but agencies for two of the board's three voting members said they would reconsider the airline's request if provided with additional information.

The nation's second-largest carrier is working to submit proposed modifications to the loan terms, but declined to provide details ...
