June Augsburg hardly knew what to do when her husband died seven years ago.
But Tyler, her golden retriever, seemed to know exactly what she needed. Whenever she came home, there he was, ready to put his big head in her lap and offer himself up for some serious petting. And at night, he slept at the foot of her bed.
"He wouldn't come up to me and ask me about my husband," Augsburg said. "He'd just greet me and come over to me and put his head in my lap, and I'd pet him. So much unconditional love."
