Apr. 22--A decades-old business is gone from Akron-Canton Airport.
Air Camis Inc., which was created in 1956, has sold its hangars to McKinley Air Inc., and no longer has operations in this area.
Air Camis was formed by three employees of Goodyear Aircraft Flight Operations at the former Akron Municipal Airport and later moved to the regional airport in Green.
In early 2000, Air Camis was sold for $2.2 million to entrepreneur Ben Bartel, who owns AvCraft Aviation LLC in Leesburg, Va.
Last year, Bartel proposed using Air Camis as the cornerstone of a service center for the Fairchild Dornier aircraft line.
