May 19--Del City soon will be the home to a new Wal-Mart Supercenter, officials announced Tuesday.
Mayor Brain Linley said at a news conference that the 200,000-square-foot store will be constructed near the intersection of Sooner Road and 15th Street along the Interstate 40 corridor.
"This will be the largest retailer ever built in the history of Del City," Linley said.
A superstore means hundreds of jobs and millions in sales tax dollars for Del City, but neighboring Midwest City will lose its Wal-Mart store when Del City's opens.
