May 18--FARMINGTON, Utah -- Davis County tourism and economic officials have discovered that birds -- whether in the hand or the bush -- are a lucrative resource, especially during the Great Salt Lake Bird Festival.
The annual bird watching and educational event, held May 14-22 this year, brings thousands of locals as well as tourists from around the world who leave their dollars at Davis County restaurants, lodging properties, and retail establishments while searching for glimpses of hundreds of avian species that frequent the Great Salt Lake and surrounding marshlands.
