China's central bank denies submitting RMB interest rate hike proposal to State Council
Shanghai. June 22. INTERFAX-CHINA - The research bureau of the People's Bank of China (PBOC), China's central bank, denied submitting an RMB interest rate hike proposal to the State Council, as had been reported in local Chinese media.
In its official announcement, the central bank also said that incorrect media reports had negatively influenced the research bureau and people associated with the bureau, and that the bank holds the right to take further actions against these reports.
