May 7--SACKETS HARBOR, N.Y. -- The village won its case to force the developer of the Sackets Harbor Yacht Club and Conference Center to get docks out of the waterfront.
Developer Sackets Harbor Leasing Co., owned by John M. Maxon and his father, Murray R., did not comply with Waterfront Management Law or apply for necessary dock permits, state Supreme Court Judge Joseph D. McGuire said in a decision obtained Thursday.
The firm also didn't get a variance from the village's Board of Trustees for the length of the docks or the setback, the judge found.
