Apr. 20--LAKE WORTH, Fla. -- Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry urged voters Monday to hold President Bush accountable for high gasoline prices and seized upon a report that the White House allegedly brokered a pact with Saudi Arabia to lower fuel prices before the November election.
"If it is true that gas supplies and prices in America are tied to the American election, tied to a secret White House deal, that is outrageous and unacceptable to the American people," the Massachusetts senator said, speaking to more than 1,000 people at an outdoor rally in South Florida. "If this sounds wrong to you, that's because it is fundamentally wrong."
