A Rolling Meadows native who spent her life overcoming obstacles has fallen short of the one that would have prolonged her life: a lung transplant.

Jennifer Greenwald Roderick, 30, passed away May 30 at her home in West Linn, Ore. She suffered from cystic fibrosis and waited more than a year and a half for a donor lung.

"She led a wonderful, full life, for her few short years," said her mother, Judy Greenwald of Rolling Meadows.
