A mural in honour of the wood engraver Thomas Bewick was unveiled yesterday in one of the busiest places in Newcastle, the city where he made his name.
Although not by Bewick, the new work displayed on the lower concourse of Central Station Metro proves that the medium he championed in the 18th Century can portray the modern world.
