Jun. 23--PROVO, Utah -- Roads in gridlocked Utah County can wait a week for relief -- but not indefinitely.

On Tuesday, Utah County commissioners tabled a resolution that would put a transportation tax on the November ballot to fund road construction.

Despite advice in some corners to avoid haste, commissioners vow they won't be derailed at their June 29 meeting from voting on the resolution, which would earmark -- subject to voter approval -- 100 percent of a quarter-cent sales-tax increase to improve state and federal highways in Utah County.
