Jan. 22--PASADENA, Calif. -- The strike by MTA mechanics dealt a sizeable blow to ridership during December on the Metro Gold Line, along with all of the agency's other rail lines and bus routes, according to newly compiled statistics.
The Los Angeles-to-Pasadena light rail, which opened last July, has struggled in its initial months to attract passengers. Any hope of momentum was dashed fewer than three months later when the mechanics union walked off the job and MTA drivers followed suit.
