Jan. 23--PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. -- The gloves came off Thursday as Beach Walk Enterprises, the operator of Bay County's M.B. Miller Pier, filed suit against the county and the county, in turn, terminated its contract with Beach Walk and ordered the company off the premises.
With those events, hostilities simmering for months reached the boiling point.
Beach Walk filed its complaint at the Bay County Courthouse shortly before 11 a.m. By then, the county attorney's office had heard that the lawsuit would be filed and already had sent its notice of termination to the company.
