North Carolina Coastal Communities Fret over Lost Sand, Low Replacement Funds.

Apr. 16--HOLDEN BEACH, N.C. -- Money is as rare as sand these days for many North Carolina coastal communities worried about their eroding beaches. But, as members of the Brunswick Beaches Consortium heard Thursday, options for saving their No. 1 selling point have been severely limited by the N.C. General Assembly.

That isn't sitting well with some coastal officials, who are facing a loss of their federal beach renourishment funding under President Bush's latest budget proposal.
