Jan. 25--FRESNO, Calif. -- San Joaquin County has taken the lead among the Valley's eight counties in its efforts to provide health insurance for uninsured children, opening the door to provide those kids with greater access to primary health care.
Meeting in Fresno last week, regional health-care officials who come together regularly to discuss issues involving access to care for the uninsured recognized that they could learn from San Joaquin County's experience in getting its Healthy Kids program off the ground.
