BLOOMINGTON, Ind. _ Patrick Ewing, a prominent Georgetown alum, "never was an Indiana fan . . . not until now."
There's a simple reason why the center who led Georgetown to an NCAA tournament title and two runner-up finishes from 1982-85 before becoming an NBA great suddenly has turned into a fanatic who gets tapes of every Indiana game.
The reason is a slender 6-foot-8-inch Indiana freshman. His teammates and friends on campus call him Pat. That's short for Patrick Ewing Jr.
