Tomorrow may be June 16, 2004, but all over the world, people will be partying like it's 1904.
As any fan of James Joyce's famously difficult "Ulysses" knows, Wednesday marks the Bloomsday centenary. The rest of you, however, may be a tad confused.
To clarify, "Bloomsday is the day we celebrate James Joyce and the book ("Ulysses") that is recognized as the great novel of the 20th century," says Charles Sheahan, consul general of Ireland.
For the most part "Ulysses" follows the movements of two fictional characters, a young wannabe poet, Stephen Dedalus and tired middle-aged businessman ...
