Mar. 29--SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Until last fall's recall election installed one of the world's best-known movie stars in the governor's office, this Central Valley city received scant national attention and routinely endured slights from its more-famous coastal cousins.
But with Arnold Schwarzenegger jetting in and out of the state capital, dining out regularly when he's in town and constantly making news, Sacramento's humdrum image has taken on a brighter hue.
"There's a higher awareness of the region as a whole," said Barbara Hayes, who recruits businesses to the area for the Sacramento Area Commerce and Trade Commission. ...
