Jun. 24--In Central Florida, where growth is everywhere and everything, nobody wants to get smaller. But the latest population estimates suggest some municipalities are shrinking.
Altamonte Springs, Maitland, Longwood and Eatonville all saw their population figures dip between 2000 and 2003, according to U.S. Census Bureau figures released Wednesday.
But bigger isn't always better, Altamonte Springs officials said Wednesday after the figures showed Sanford, Altamonte's neighbor to the north, is growing while their city isn't.
