Jun. 24--Health officials in San Bernardino County, following an outbreak of West Nile virus that has sent two people to the hospital, plan Friday to take the unusual step of spraying pesticide in a mosquito-infested neighborhood.
The season's West Nile virus victims tally was up to eight on Wednesday, all in San Bernardino County, and largely in one neighborhood in the city of Fontana.
The number of cases already exceeds last year's total of three, and incidents are occurring much earlier in the season. In 2003, the first West Nile case wasn't reported until ...
