SAN FRANCISCO _ Along with a diamond-encrusted Olympic torch, Willie Mays passed on some proud godfatherly advice Monday after Barry Bonds tied him for third on the all-time list with 660 home runs.

"Go after the next one, don't stop," Mays instructed his godson. "Keep moving."

Throughout the latest leg of Bonds' pursuit of the all-time home run record _ next up is Babe Ruth (714) and then Hank Aaron (755) _ Mays has helped lead the charge by providing emotional, physical (and occasionally tactical) support.
