Apr. 10--Rhode Island is much better prepared for economic success than it was two years ago, according to a recent study of the state's science and technology assets.

The review by the Milken Institute, an independent economic think tank, ranked Rhode Island 11th out of the 50 states in having the best chance of succeeding in the "technology-led information age."

Not only did Rhode Island's ranking jump from 21st in 2002, but this year it outranked Pennsylvania, Arizona and Texas.
