ATLANTA -- White House/Black Market, the all-black-and-white chain, is now under the wing of one of retail's biggest success stories after being bought by Chico's in September. But as White House/Black Market embarks on an aggressive growth plan, don't expect to see a Chico's clone.
"We're not out to Chico-ize White House/Black Market. It's not a fixer-upper," said Mori MacKenzie, executive vice president, sales, for Chico's. "Like Chico's, White House/Black Market has high energy and a customer focus in its DNA. It was lacking resources, but now it's ready for store and sales growth."
