Feb. 16--WILKES-BARRE TWP. -- Pizza, singing and Yuengling?
Owners of the kiddie mecca Chuck E. Cheese's being erected on Highland Township Boulevard want to serve beer and wine when the pizza place opens in April.
Jon Rice, a spokesman for the restaurant's parent company, said a majority of the Chuck E. Cheese's 470 restaurants nationwide have liquor licenses, and it is rare when citizens rise up to oppose beer sales -- as they did two years ago in Dickson City.
But, of the six Chuck E. Cheese's closest to Wilkes-Barre, just two -- the ones in King of Prussia and Reading -- have liquor licenses.
