Apr. 2--Garden City calls it a stalemate.
The Georgia Ports Authority is calling for patience.
Nine months ago, the Ports Authority clear cut two acres of trees and erected an eight-foot chain-link fence - complete with barbed wire - next to Garden City City Hall. Noise and bright lights from the new container storage facility now spill into a nearby neighborhood.
Garden City officials say they've hit a wall negotiating with the ports for a more permanent, eye-pleasing buffer - a 10- to 20-foot berm.
