Mar. 28--The Madison County Industrial Development Authority appears poised to go ahead with a controversial plan to bring municipal water to an area where groundwater has been contaminated by decades-old spills from a petroleum pipeline.
Marvin White, the authority's executive director, said he expects the authority to meet sometime this week to decide whether to approve a contract with the company that operates the pipeline, Colonial Pipeline.
The pipeline stretches more than 1,500 miles east and north from Louisiana and Texas, delivering gasoline and other petroleum products all the way up to New Jersey. Locally, the ...
