Mar. 18--Grapefruit aids Lipitor in cutting cholesterol, Kevin Browne, the research chair at Watson Clinic, announced at Wednesday's monthly Florida Citrus Commission meeting.
And, in addition, the tart fruit is proven to help dieters lose weight, said Nicole LeBeau, a citrus marketing official.
With grapefruit sales in decline from a year ago, citrus officials spent Wednesday morning exploring what efforts will improve the image and sales of the oft-overlooked fruit.
