DALLAS _ Southwest Airlines Co. said Friday it had a tentative agreement with the union representing its 7,300 flight attendants, likely ending a spat that was uncomfortably public for the discount carrier.
The deal marks another triumphant chapter for Southwest Chairman Herb Kelleher, who took just two months to end talks that had languished for nearly two years.
"Herb's a miracle worker," said airline analyst Ray Neidl of Blaylock & Partners, who said he was surprised at how quickly the negotiations wrapped up. "He did very well."
