BOSTON _ The Philadelphia Phillies have their own quirky ballpark that visiting teams _ and even the Phils themselves _ are still getting to know.
Fenway Park is another matter.
As National Leaguers, the Phillies are infrequent visitors to Fenway, where the Green Monster in left and the oh-so-close Pesky Pole down the right field line are just two attributes unique to baseball in the part of Boston known as "The Fens."
But it wasn't just the old ballpark that had Phillies manager Larry Bowa concerned entering Friday night's opener of a three-game series against the Bosox.
