Mar. 12--The agency in charge of revitalizing lower Manhattan agreed yesterday to give the Tribeca Film Festival $3 million over the next two years to support what has become one of downtown's largest tourist attractions.
"This grant allows us to ensure the future of this free public programming," said Jane Rosenthal, who co-founded the film festival with actor Robert De Niro.
The film festival, which will be held this year from May 1-9, has become a major boon for the film industry in the city, but it also gives New Yorkers and visitors to the city an opportunity to immerse themselves in the cinematic arts at ...
