Mar. 12--The historic Alamo National Bank and Aztec Theater buildings downtown could be renovated pending a partnership between Drury Hotels and a local developer, Euro-Alamo Investments.
The proposed $73 million project entails converting the 75-year-old, 24-story bank building at 105 S. St. Mary's St. into a 390-room hotel, completion of the Aztec Theater and completion of the River Walk inner loop.
The river loop would be completed by constructing a three-block stretch of River Walk sidewalk at a cost of about $1.5 million. All financial liability would be borne by the partnership.
