Mar. 10--Even before the Asean-China free trade deal comes into effect early next year, Thai exporter Pranda Jewelry Plc is already a step ahead of the competition, with extensive access to Chinese markets through its Guangzhou-based operation.
Jewellery is not covered under the current bilateral free trade agreement between Thailand and China, but it is included in the upcoming Asean-China accord. For this reason, Thai exporters must wait until the Asean-China pact takes hold before they can start exporting gold jewellery to their giant northern neighbour.
