Komatsu has been supplying the Guyana Mining Enterprise Ltd (Guymine) with essential construction and mining equipment for its bauxite mining operations in this South American country since 1986. Guymine is run by the state-owned Bauxite Industry Development Co., which operates opencast mines about 105 km south of the capital, Georgetown, around the town of Linden in Demerara county - one of the three counties comprising the country. Guymine now has 19 Komatsu machines - four HD465-3 offhighway dumptrucks, seven D355A-3 bulldozers, two WA600-1 and one WA420-1 wheel loaders, one GD825-1 motor grader, two PC650-3 backhoe excavators and two WS23S-2 motor scrapers.
