It is no coincidence that the Bell operating company that makes the cable industry cough the least when it passes the peace pipe - US West Inc. - has Gary Bryson as the president of its cable communications division.
One mark of Bryson's value recently manifested itself when US West and Tele-Communications Inc. announced a grand alliance to operate and build telephone and cable systems it, the United Kingdom. The extension of US West's previous partnership with a company TCI just bought out, Unite Artists Entertainment Co., sent a ray of hope through the foundering U.K. cable industry.
