Jun. 23--Contract negotiations involving 2,900 union electricians in the St. Louis area could be a turning point for the local construction industry.
Not only could a work stoppage halt projects in the short-term, but some observers say the fate of the area's union construction industry might be at risk.
"It could be a watershed event," said Len Toenjes, president of the Associated General Contractors of St. Louis. "I think there's just a lot of tension and concern right now."
