Feb. 26--Tony Michaels, CEO of Big Boy Restaurants International LLC, is visibly proud as he takes a visitor for a tour of its food commissary and newly spiffed-up corporate offices in Warren.
The once-troubled icon of family restaurants has a new lease on life after surviving Chapter 11 bankruptcy three years ago and undergoing management and ownership shake-ups.
Following the company's reorganization, there are plenty of changes -- like owner Bob Liggitt, who scooped up the restaurant chain in December 2000 out of bankruptcy for about $25 million. But symbolized by the ubiquitous Big Boy icon himself, plenty of old ...
