Feb. 22--CARLSBAD, Calif. -- More than five months after Jan Sobel resigned as president and chief executive officer of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce, the group is close to filling the vacancy.
That is the word from Fred Arbuckle, the chamber's past chairman and head of its search committee. Sobel arrived in 1996 and is helping the chamber as a consultant until her replacement is named. She announced her departure on Sept. 17.
"I think we're very close to making a selection within the next two weeks," Arbuckle said Wednesday.
