Feb. 18--If you have regular business at the Georgia Ports Authority's Garden City terminal, get ready to have your picture taken.
In all, 10,000 people - including GPA staffers, truck drivers, freight handlers and others who visit the terminal regularly - will be issued new photo badges by March 31.
So far, the GPA has received more than 2,500 applications and issued more than 1,300 picture IDs, complete with magnetically coded information cross-referenced to card holders' thumb prints.
Card-swipe systems will be installed later this year.
