Jun. 29--A judge's ruling on Monday likely means that another video lottery establishment can open in Kanawha City, despite protests from a state senator and some residents.
Kanawha Circuit Judge Tod Kaufman said Monday that the owners of the Hot Spot can open at the intersection of MacCorkle Avenue and 35th Street, despite a 5-month-old city law that says video lottery retailers cannot open within 2,000 feet of each other.
